Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day In Sarasota County
Enjoy Irish music, green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and more at these upcoming St. Patrick's Day events in the Sarasota area.
SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — St. Patrick’s Day, celebrated on March 17, is just days away, and even with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, many Sarasota-area bars, restaurants and organizations are recognizing the holiday.
If you’re looking for an evening of Irish music, green beer, and corned beef and cabbage, here are some upcoming local events to check out.
The Gator Club

Sarasota’s Gator Club, located at 1490 Main Street, celebrates St. Patrick’s Day Saturday at 4 p.m. until Sunday at 1 a.m. The annual part features performances by Johnny Diamond and Midnight Mama, as well as music from DJ Steve Rice.
Though it’s an outdoor event, the venue asks that attendees “practice social distancing,” according to the Facebook event page. COVID-19 precautions will be in place.

Shamrock Pub
The Shamrock Pub, located at 2257 Ringling Blvd. in Sarasota, has celebrated St. Patrick’s Day for the past 14 years. This year’s event, set for Wednesday at 4 p.m., will feature Irish entertainment and food in the bar’s front lot.
The event runs through about 11 p.m. and will feature performances by Andy Thomas, Blue Sky Pipe & Drums and Wandering Hours. Bagpipers and Irish dancers will also perform throughout the evening, according to the Facebook event page. Masks and social distancing are encouraged at the event.
Downtown Venice
Hang out in downtown Venice all day Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., for numerous St. Patrick’s Day happenings as Venice MainStreet partners celebrate the holiday. Local stores and restaurants will celebrate all day and into the night. Irish dancers, fiddlers, and bagpipers will dance and play. A highlight of the day is T.J. Carney’s annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

Big Top Brewing Company
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Big Top Brewing Company at 6111 Porter Way in Sarasota. The day will kick off at 7 a.m. with a free pancake breakfast. All day Irish stouts are available for $1 off. There will also be a Reuben special, and corned beef and cabbage stew available to purchase. The Blarney Stoned will perform at 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Teas Days
The monthly Boba, Bubbles & Brushes step-by-step painting class at Teas Days, located at 6517 Superior Ave. in Sarasota, Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. will be St. Patrick’s Day themed. Single tickets are $40 per person. Group rates are also available. Tickets include one free drink. Learn more at the Facebook event page.
Village Green Golf Club
The Village Green Golf Club at 3500 Pembrook Road in Sarasota hosts its St. Patrick’s Day 18 Hole Scramble & Lunch Wednesday. Tee times start at 9:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m.
Village Green will also host a St. Patrick’s Day 12 Hole Scramble & Dinner that same day. Tee time begins at 3 p.m. with food service beginning shortly after that.
Pub 32 Irish Gastropub
Join the New World Celts for a St. Patrick’s Day kilt meet-up Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Pub 32 Irish Gastropub at 8383 S Tamiami Trail in Sarasota.
