Community library fuels residents’ passions
Library at The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods in Sarasota helps fuel residents' passions and encourage meaningful connections

At The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods in Sarasota, reading is a pastime that many residents enjoy. To help fuel this passion and encourage learning, growing and making meaningful connections, the community has a dedicated library, fully managed by a committee of resident volunteers in the independent living neighborhood.
The library committee meets once a month to discuss new releases and old favorites that they would like to add to the library, which are then ordered by Community Life. Books are also donated by residents, while older titles are filtered out and donated to Goodwill. The committee finds great joy in organizing the shelves and creating a positive experience for all who enter the reader’s oasis.
With the help of the library committee, the community’s library has become an active place for residents peruse the bookshelves and dive into a good book. Book club is also held on the second Thursday of the month and is a great way for residents to connect with their neighbors and continue their passion.
