Cosimo’s Too Closes, Citrus Café to go on Hiatus, New Spots Prepare to Open

Even though we are in the midst of the "quiet season," there is still a great deal of activity in the restaurant space. Menus expand, places close and plans for openings are underway.

Every Sarasota summer brings a sea of change in the restaurant world and this year is no exception. announced it was permanently closing its Westfield Sarasota Square location but will continue to operate its at Westfield Southgate. 

Meanwhile the continues to operate at it Burns Square location until mid-July when it will go on hiatus. At the current time no specific details were available for the new location or planned reopening date but late summer early fall were the time-lines shared.

Continuing to test new menu items and specials for the summer, ,  and the are in the midst of offering new summer menus.

Two new places are planning summer openings. The Burns Court Café located at 401 South Pineapple Avenue will be a casual meeting place serving coffee, espresso, cappuccino, pastries, paninis, beer and wine. In Towles Court the former Canvas Café will undergo a renovation and transformation becoming home to the new Indigenous Restaurant. Former chef Stephen Phelps, will be returning to his old haunt with some innovative ideas and cuisine.
