Driver Killed After Dispute In Sarasota: Police
The shooter had a valid concealed carry weapon and was released as the investigation continued, according to police.
SARASOTA, FL — A male was fatally shot after an altercation Saturday night in Sarasota, according to police.
Sarasota County deputies responded shortly after 8 p.m. to the intersection of Fruitville and Cattlemen roads, where they found a dead male in a pickup truck on Fruitville Road west of Interstate 75, police said.
Two people were located nearby in a sedan and the passenger explained that after a dispute, the pickup driver pointed a gun at the sedan's passenger and driver, leading the passenger to exit the car and fire multiple rounds into the side of the pickup, according to police.

The passenger had a valid concealed carry weapon, and both he and the driver of the sedan were released as the investigation continued, police said.
