Drug House Closed Down, 4 Arrested, Sarasota Cops Say

When neighborhood complaints began rolling in about a house on Colleton Drive in Sarasota, police decided to do a little poking around.

What they found was enough to gain them a search warrant for the property at 1083 Colleton Drive that resulted in the arrest of four people Friday, the seizure of drugs – lots of them – and nearly $7,000 in cash.

All told, detectives took possession of 264.4 grams of powder cocaine, 41 grams of rock cocaine, 25.9 grams of heroin, 9.2 grams of marijuana, 25.4 grams of oxycodone, 32.7 grams of Dilaudid, $6,832 in cash and two loaded semi-automatic handguns, according to an email from police department spokeswoman Genevieve Judge.

The people inside the home were selling and manufacturing drugs, Judge wrote, and had a stream of customers around the clock.

“Neighborhood reports were that this home and the people living there were operating an around-the-clock drug business. We hope these arrests have a major impact on the quality of life for this neighborhood and the people who live there,” said Lt. Pat Ledwith, Commander, Criminal Investigation Division, was quoted in the email as saying.

· Possession of Marijuana less than 20 Grams

· Trafficking in Heroin 4-14 Grams

· Trafficking in Cocaine 28-200 Grams
