Education Foundation Elects New Board Members
The Education Foundation of Sarasota County announced the addition of six new members to the board of directors.

SARASOTA, Fla. (Aug. 15, 2018) – The Education Foundation of Sarasota County announced the addition of six new members to the board of directors.
Nancy Harris, Kent A. Hayes and Anne Rollings are new members elected to serve three-year terms that began May 2018.
Teacher and student representatives elected to one-year terms are William “B.J.” Ivey, teacher and coach at Riverview High School (RHS) and the 2017 Sarasota County Teacher of the Year; Michael Feltovic, senior at RHS; and Stephanie Hawkins, senior at North Port High School.

Harris is a retired arts educator, museum archivist, oral historian and entrepreneur. In addition to her career at a Washington, D.C., museum, she founded and served as chief executive officer of Simply Organized LLC. Harris actively volunteers at schools and nonprofit organizations. She was named the 2017 adult volunteer of the year at Alta Vista School.
Hayes, director of client services at Sarasota-based Tandem Construction, is a Sarasota native, business development professional, and parent of three children whom Hayes credits with inspiring him to contribute to local education. Hayes’ experience with start-ups and small businesses, marketing, and supporting growth strategies support the Education Foundation’s strategic focus on innovative thinking to help prepare students for postsecondary success.

Rollings is the manager of corporate office operations of Gecko’s Hospitality Group, the parent company of locally owned restaurants. She grew up in Sarasota and is a graduate of the University of Florida and of Leadership Sarasota. In her corporate role, Rollings oversees business development, public relations, government relations, and the company’s charitable giving program.
The foundation board also elected new officers: Britt Riner, chair; Lisl Liang, vice chair; Linda Jellison, secretary; Juan C. Villaveces, treasurer; and Tom Koski, immediate past chair.
Additional board members include Asim Chauhan, who is serving his second year; and Jennifer Vigne, president of the Education Foundation.
