Fire Ravages Sarasota Tire Center Saturday Night: County
Firefighters were called in to battle the north Sarasota blaze just after 6 p.m., Sarasota County Emergency Services said.
SARASOTA, FL — A fire ravaged Sarasota Tire Center, located at 19th Street and North East Avenue, Saturday night.
Firefighters were called in to battle the blaze at the commercial building just after 6 p.m., Sarasota County Emergency Services tweeted. Emergency responders had the fire under control by 7:23 p.m.
One person was injured during the fire and brought to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, the county said. Sarasota police tweeted that the injuries were minor.

The fire was initially called in by Sarasota police officers, who assisted with traffic control. East Avenue was temporarily closed from 17th Street to 20th Street Saturday night.
The owner of Sarasota Tire Center told ABC7 that he’s shocked by what happened to his business. The interior has been destroyed and numerous vehicles were impacted by the fire, as well.

“I’m still in awe right now. I’m really devastated, I’m in shock,” said Orane Ramjasbryan. “I’m very much speechless. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what to say.”
