Georgia Fugitive Captured in Sarasota

The teen is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting at a high school football game.

Kristofer Hunter, 17, went to Langston Hughes High School’s homecoming game in Fulton County, Georgia, on Oct. 3 to connect with old friends.

Instead, he ended up dead, shot in the parking lot, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

While one of the teens wanted in connection with the crime turned himself in to Georgia authorities back in October, the second Antione “Twon” Stephion Battle, 19, remained on the lam, described by Fulton County officials as an armed and dangerous fugitive, the paper reported.

Battle’s days on the run came to an end this week when Sarasota County deputies found him hiding out at a home on Jennings Drive. Detectives went to that home to investigate a Dec. 14 fatal home invasion that resulted in the death of a 25-year-old man. While Battle was not charged in that case, once deputies identified him, they brought him into custody based on the Georgia warrants.

He is currently being held at the Sarasota County Jail as a fugitive pending action from Georgia law enforcement. He faces felony murder and three other charges, Sarasota deputies say.
