SARASOTA, FL — Drivers are asked to avoid a section of Interstate 75 on Monday morning after a dump truck crashed into an overpass, spilling gravel onto the highway, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The crash happened around 4:45 a.m., when the truck, which was heading north, slammed into the Proctor Road overpass, near mile marker 206.
The truck was stuck under the overpass, and gravel spilled onto the two outside lanes, closing them, deputies said.
