NAPLES, FL — A Naples man was arrested Tuesday night for hacking Florida’s voter registration system, according to a news release shared by Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

Anthony Steven Guevara, 20, has been charged with unauthorized access of a computer and altering voter registration without consent.

The hacker altered voter information for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents also believe he accessed voter registration information for U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, and basketball legends Michael Jordan and LeBron James, but didn’t make any changes, the news release said.

DeSantis alerted the FDLE that his address in Florida’s voting registration database had been changed to an address in West Palm Beach. Agents say the registration address was changed via computer over a web browser, the news release said.

The FDLE, working closely with the Sheriff's Office, identified Guevara as the suspect and arrested him following a search warrant.

Guevara was brought to Collier County Jail, where he’s being held on a $5,000 bond. This case will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 20th Judicial Circuit.
