JFCS Adopt-a-Family Program reaches new milestone
270 local children receive gifts valued at more than $26,000

The 2018 holiday season was made a lot brighter for 270 children thanks to the generosity from more than 80 donors who donated over $26,000 in gifts and cash. In total, 75 families, including 270 children, were adopted, making 2018 a milestone season for JFCS’ annual Adopt-a-Family program, which began in 2004.
“There is no greater gift than the gift that gives back,” said Karen Wain, JFCS director of volunteer services and community outreach. “The incredible generosity from the donors truly made this an exceptional year for the families and children who were blessed to receive their gifts.”
Since 2014, more than 900 children from 335 families have had their holidays made merrier through the Adopt-a-Family program.
