Local Artist's One Woman Show in Detroit Draws 8000
"Hell, Purgatory and Paradise," the one-woman show and portrayal of local artist's life in her work

Artists of renown are rare, artists in the sense of proportion to the masses of humans. Many of us dabble in the arts and some are pretty darn good. But few, only a small few, ever reach the point of having quotable names, names that when dropped appropriately can give the dropper a quiet sense of cache. Sarasota's own, Gale Fulton Ross, is one of those human beings with a name that can, for people in the know of today's artists, create a gentle nod of approval.
Fulton Ross is in the early stages of her one-woman show in Detroit, "Hell, Purgatory and Paradise," and in 5 days 8000 people have been through to see it.
Running until March 29, the show is a journey through the artist's own life, the presentation of which, according to the press release, is inspired by Dante's "Divine Comedy." Using her own personal exploration through her lifetime, the show creates a metaphor for Fulton Ross' personal evolution from confusion and despair to self-forgiveness, enlightenment and artistic freedom.
