Man Arrested For Falsely Reporting Bomb Threat At Venice UPS Store: Police
A Port Charlotte man faces charges for falsely reporting a bomb threat at a Venice UPS store, police said.
VENICE, FL — A Port Charlotte man was arrested Wednesday after calling in a fake bomb threat at the UPS store in Venice Commons Plaza on East Venice Avenue, authorities said.
Andrew A. Bevan, 55, was charged with planting or threatening to use a hoax bomb and false reporting of a bomb, Venice police wrote in a social media post.
He is being held without bond at the Charlotte County Jail.

People were asked to temporarily avoid the shopping center for several hours on Wednesday, starting around 7:45 a.m., after a suspicious package was reported at the UPS store, police said.
The plaza fully reopened after law enforcement determined the suspicious device wasn’t a threat.
