Man’s Body Found Floating In Pond At Sarasota’s Lakeview Park: Report

SARASOTA, FL — A man’s body was found floating in a pond Sunday morning at Sarasota’s Lakeview Park, according to multiple reports.

Deputies responded to the park just before 10:30 a.m. after receiving calls about an unresponsive man in the water, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office told ABC 7.

Those who found his body initially thought it was a Halloween decoration, reports said.
There were no signs of trauma to the man’s body, according to 10 Tampa Bay.

Lakeview Park has a disc golf course. Witnesses at the park said the man is frequently seen in or around the pond looking for discs, reports said.

Sarasota County Fire Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene. The victim hasn’t been named and the cause of death hasn’t been identified.

The park remained open during the investigation.
