Meals On Wheels of Sarasota delivers heart-healthy meals, a warm smile, and a safety check to home-bound residents six days a week, year-round. During the holidays, they also deliver much-needed items like socks, tissues, stamps, pill boxes, shampoo, soap, puzzles, cards, and toys for kids between 6 and 12 years old. The “Christmas in July” donations fill the gaps when items delivered in December last less than a year.

Recently, Susan Hickman of Suncoast Community Church stopped by the Meals On Wheels of Sarasota facility on North Lime Avenue with personal hygiene items and colorful, handmade placemats created by their youngest members.

“We are grateful to Suncoast Community Church for their support,” said Marjorie Broughton, Executive Director at Meals On Wheels of Sarasota. “Our Christmas in July gifts help our clients get items they need, but the children’s art really brightens their day.”
