Michael Jordan May Build Speedier Florida Golf Course

The former NBA star is reportedly fed up with the Sunshine State's slow pace of play.

A new golf course may soon grace the South Florida landscape courtesy of former NBA legend Michael Jordan.

It seems the pro-hoopster is fed up with the slow pace of play at the Bear’s Club in Jupiter where he is a member and owns a home, according to Golf.com.

“Michael likes to play fast and he can’t stand it when people won’t let him through,” the publication quoted a golf-industry insider who is close to Jordan as saying.

It seems Jordan has an option to buy a piece of land to build his own exclusive course on Hobe Sound, according to Yahoo Sports.

If he builds it, however, only the elite will be allowed to come, the Broward/Palm Beach New Times is reporting. The course would reportedly be open only to select players who don’t dilly-dally on the green.

Should the 52-year-old Jordan pursue the notion of building the course, it seems financing won’t be an issue. The majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets is reportedly one of the newest members of America’s billionaire club, according to Forbes. His annual earnings add up to a tidy sum of about $90 million, the publication states.

It is currently unclear how soon the new course would come to fruition if Jordan did pursue construction.
