MindSpa's Dr. George Rozelle and Dr. George Lindenfeld Post Article About Progress Helping Veteran Cope with PTSD
The clinical collaboration integrated RESET Therapy with Brain Mapping to help local Sarasota combat veteran Wade Risha
Dr. George Rozelle, the owner of MindSpa, and Dr. George Lindenfeld completed an article recently focused on the use of RESET Therapy and Brain Mapping to help a combat veteran living in Sarasota. The clinicians collaborated to help Marine Corp veteran Wade Risha who served nine months in southwest Afghanistan. Many combat veterans are coping with post traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, and other symptoms following their tour of duty.
RESET is an acronym for Reconsolidation Enhancement by Stimulation of Emotional Triggers. Targeted sound through various devices like The BAUD can interrupt negative images from prior experiences. The natural brain function of reconsolidating mental pictures of prior experiences explains why people suffering with PTSD relive the same experiences over and over again. Traditional talk therapy and pharmaceuticals do not address the underlying cause.
The article has been posted online at Academia.edu and is being considered for publication in a professional journal. It’s the preliminary report of their findings. Dr. Rozelle and Dr. Lindenfeld plan to do follow up testing and submit a more formal article to a peer reviewed trauma journal.

Dr. Lindenfeld made a presentation about PTSD at MindSpa in early November. He explained RESET Therapy and Dr. Rozelle showed slides detailing the positive results of the therapy captured with brain scan technology. Dr. Lindenfeld recently published his new book titled: The 20-Minute Trauma Fix: New Brain Science Supports Healing of PTSD.
Dr. Rozelle is leading a multi-site controlled study of retired NFL players dealing with the symptoms of repetitive head trauma. Combat veterans, professional athletes, first responders, and construction contractors share a higher than normal risk for head and brain injuries. Study participants use HPN Neurofeedback to address cognitive and emotional issues. Participating NFL cities for the study include Denver, Charlotte, San Francisco, New York, and Chicago. Dr. Rozelle reports encouraging early findings from the ongoing study.
