Motorcyclist Killed In U.S. 41 Crash Sunday Evening: Police

A motorcyclist collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Goldenrod Street and South Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, police said.

SARASOTA, FL — A motorcyclist was killed in a Sunday evening crash on U.S. 41, Sarasota police said in a news release.

The crash happened around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Goldenrod Street and South Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41) when the motorcyclist collided with another vehicle, police said.

The motorcyclist was traveling north on South Tamiami Trail when the other vehicle, traveling south on the highway, attempted to make a left turn onto Goldenrod Street. The motorcyclist struck the side of the vehicle.

The man riding the motorcycle died from injuries he sustained in the crash, police said. His name is being withheld until his family is notified. The crash remains under investigation.
