Newtown Shooting Victim In Stable Condition: Police
Information sought in shooting that took place at the intersection of 24th Street and Palmadelia Avenue Sunday night, police said.

SARASOTA, FL — A man was shot at the intersection of 24th Street and Palmadelia Avenue Sunday night, Sarasota Police Department said in a news release. The shooting took place around 8:30 p.m.
Sarasota patrol officers were on foot near 24th Street and Links Avenue when they heard gunshots nearby. They saw two vehicles fleeing from west of where they were standing. The officers attempted to stop one of the vehicles, but lost sight of it east of Tuttle Avenue, police said.
They found a man with gunshot wounds in the 2300 block of Leon Avenue. He was brought to Sarasota Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition.
