Over 2 Million Pounds of Food

Twelve State Farm agents teamed up to help feed the community

( )

All Faith Food Bank is only food bank and largest hunger relief organization in Sarasota and DeSoto counties. Since the start of COVID-19, the food bank has distributed more than 2 million pounds of food.

To assist, twelve State Farm agents teamed up to help the food bank purchase more food for needy families in the community. In less than 1 week, the State farm agents donated $1,400 and used the State Farm Matching Gift Program to match their donation. Led by State Farm agent Dean McConville, the agents were also able to secure an additional $1,500 State Farm grant for a total donation of $4,300.

“In the first two months of our COVID-19 relief efforts, we saw a 44% increase in new clients at our food distributions,” said CEO of All Faiths Food Bank, Sandra Frank. “We know that the recovery for the impact this pandemic has had on our community will continue for months and even years to come. We are very grateful for State Farm’s support of our work, which will help us provide food for people displaced by COVID-19.”
