A 42-year-old Sarasota man is dead following a crash on State Road 72 Wednesday night.According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Toyota Sienna driven by Terrence Smith, 70, of Uniontown, Ohio, was heading east on State Road 72 around 9 p.m. when the crash happened. When Smith was just west of the Lockwood Ridge Road intersection, a pedestrian began to cross lanes directly in front of his vehicle, a highway patrol report stated.The man, identified as Vincente Ruvalcaba, was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries.Smith and his passenger, Suzanne Smith, 70, suffered minor injuries.No charges were filed.Photo courtesy of the Florida Highway Patrol
