Pedestrian Killed While Lying On Interstate

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL -- A pedestrian who was lying on Interstate 75 was killed Tuesday, Oct. 30 after being struck by a car.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Jason Sanders, 45, of North Port was traveling south on Interstate 75 south of State Road 72 (Clark Road) at 10:45 p.m. when he struck a pedestrian who lying down partially in the center and outside lanes of the highway.

The unnamed pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
