
Sarasota County emergency response agencies are working the site of a plane crash off Siesta Key.
According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, the plane crashed early Tuesday afternoon behind the 7900 block of Sanderling Road.
“Both occupants are out and are reporting only minor injuries,” the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page stated.

Sarasota Bradenton International Airport received the mayday call and contacted the sheriff’s office, WINK News is reporting.

This is the second plane crash in recent weeks on a Sarasota County beach. In late July, a Georgia man and his daughter were killed after being struck by a plane that crash-landed on Venice’s Caspersen Beach.
