Alligator courtship starts in early April, and mating takes place in May or June, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The females then build a nest and lay their eggs in late June or early July.
People with concerns about an alligator should call FWC's toll-free Nuisance Alligator Hotline at 866-392-4286, and the agency will dispatch a contracted nuisance alligator trapper to resolve the situation.
