Retired Schools Police Chief Tim Enos Running For Sarasota County School Board

Tim Enos, who retired as chief of the Sarasota County Schools Police Department in December, is running for district 5 school board seat.

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — The former chief of the Sarasota County Schools Police Department announced his candidacy for Sarasota County School Board, launching a Facebook page for his campaign Thursday.

Tim Enos, who retired from the police department in early January after winter break, is running for the district 5 seat in the 2022 school board election. He is a 28-year law enforcement veteran, according to the school district’s website.

According to his Facebook page, he's been endorsed by Sarasota County Sheriff Kurt Hoffman.

The district 5 seat is currently held by Jane Goodwin, who also serves as the board chair.

The board’s district 1 and 4 seats, currently represented by Bridget Ziegler and Shirley Brown, respectively, are also up for election in 2022.

Patch has reached out to Enos and Goodwin for comment and has contacted the supervisor of elections for a complete list of candidates who have qualified for the 2022 school board election so far.
