Riverview High School Briefly On Lockdown Monday: Sarasota Schools

Lockdown was lifted Monday morning at Riverview High School after law enforcement found no threat to campus, Sarasota County Schools said.

SARASOTA, FL — Lockdown was lifted Monday morning at Riverview High School in Sarasota after law enforcement determined there was no threat to the school, Sarasota County Schools tweeted around 11:45 a.m.

The school was briefly placed on lockdown Monday, though the school district didn’t say what time it was locked down or the nature of the threat.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office and the Sarasota Police Department responded to Riverview to assist the Sarasota County School Police Department.

Patch contacted the school district for additional information. This story will be updated when the district responds.

Riverview was recently in lockdown for about 45 minutes when an internal alarm was triggered at the school on March 30. Law enforcement cleared the campus that day and found no threats.
