Sarasota 4th Of July: How To Avoid Parking Tickets
With the 32nd annual Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix and holiday festivities going on, the city should be hopping this weekend.

Sarasota, FL — Sarasota area residents with big plans to take in some of the city’s 4th of July weekend festivities will want to take extra care to park their rides where they won’t be towed or face tickets.
The City of Sarasota has put together a few reminders to help motorists steer clear of any problems:
- Drive lanes in the city must remain open and clear. Motorists should not obstruct traffic
- People should park in the direction of traffic
- Park 20 feet clear of any marked crosswalks
- Park at least 30 feet from a stop sign
- Do not park in a manner that obstructs fire hydrants
- Do not block the visual range for other vehicles near intersections
- Parking is absolutely not allowed on sidewalks
“There is no fee to park legally on a City of Sarasota street or right-of-way,” the city reminded in an email to media. “Hundreds of parking spaces are available on South Boulevard of the Presidents and the south parking lot on South Adams Drive on St. Armands Key.”
