Sarasota Burglars Make Off With $100,000 In Jewelry, Coins

Sarasota Police detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying burglars who stole jewelry and coins.

SARASOTA, FL -- Sarasota Police detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying two burglars who stole jewelry and unique coins valued at $50.000 to $100,000 from Estate Coin and Jewelry Galleria at 1650 Main St., Sarasota.

On Thursday, March 29, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Sarasota Police officers arrived on the scene and found the rear door forced open. A surveillance video shows two people wearing hooded sweatshirts entering the store. They can been seen smashing the glass of the jewelry cabinets with a crowbar and stealing jewelry and coins.

Employees at a neighboring store told detectives that earlier in the day a couple came into the store asking questions that seemed out of the ordinary.

The woman seen entering the neighboring store has a similar long braid as the woman in the burglary video.
