Sarasota Girl Scout Volunteers Honored

Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida is celebrating the achievements of four volunteers from Sarasota

Sarasota, FL–April is National Volunteer Month, and Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida is celebrating the achievements of four volunteers from Sarasota.

Allison Cavallaro received the Volunteer of Excellence Award. This honor is reserved for those who have contributed outstanding service while partnering directly with girls to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through the use of the National Program Portfolio, or who have contributed outstanding service in support of the council’s mission delivery to girl and adult members.

Christina Cook received the Appreciation Pin. This award is given to an adult for service that is outstanding and above and beyond the expectations of the position held, is delivered to at least one neighborhood or county within the council jurisdiction, and contributes to the council’s goals and objectives.

Amy Goodson and Tammy Peters were presented with the Honor Pin. This award recognizes an individual’s exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience with measurable impact on two or more geographic areas of service to reach and surpass the mission-delivery goals of the council.

Though all three awards were issued by the local council, they are also recognized nationally by Girl Scouts of the USA as three of the highest awards available to adults in Girl Scouting. The volunteer awards were presented last January at the council’s annual meeting.
