My brother John W. Savage currently resides there has since about a year ago. He is paralyzed on his left side, has a feeding tube, and a tracheotomy and is incontinent. We have experienced problems since he has resided there. I will say there are a few good people there who do their jobs and do them well. However in my personal opinion the ones who don't care far outweigh the ones who do.

On Wednesday May 30, 2018 my brother almost died in front of my eyes because of the care and lack of concern for human life. The facility had my brother transported to a Dermatology Center in Tampa Florida by a regular transport on a stretcher. They had no nurse accompany him and the transport company was not trained to help my brother in case something happened. I accompanied my brother so he would have a family member with him. However I also have no medical training to help my brother in a situation should something happen.

Long story something did happen and I have written an article a few days ago about it and posted it in the bulletin section on Sarasota Patch. The article is titled Sarasota Health and Rehabilitation Center Inhumane Treatment . Please read the article some of you may be shocked and others might not be because they have possibly experienced worse treatment in facilities like this one.

My brothers tracheotomy got caught and ripped out and nobody could help him.

When a family member called the facility to find out why they sent my brother with not even a nurse they were told he was self-sufficient and didn't need anyone he was totally capable to handle things on his own. They sent no adult depends either and he needed to be changed and he can't do that himself.

The meaning for self-sufficient is as follows from Websters Dictionary:

Definition of self-sufficient. 1 : able to maintain oneself or itself without outside aid : capable of providing for one's own needs. a self-sufficient farm.

In no way is my brother self-sufficient. My brother does however have all his faculties and is very aware of what goes on. He is also your go to man for a crossword puzzle and he can speak and write. What he can't do is bathe himself, change his diaper, walk, or eat food he has a feeding tube!

How does the state hire people for these jobs? I would like to know and what kind of training do some of these people have and the administrator of Health Care Facilities should know the meaning of self-sufficient and instill that in their employees.

Where do they find these people I really would like to know?

The Florida Board of Health is no help at all and is a farce. We are losing our most precious commodities more and more every day. Those precious commodities are human beings our loved ones. They have valuable stories and life skills we can learn from and their lives mean something. Please comment and let me know if anyone out there has had problems or is having them right now we need to stick together to save our loved ones from facilities like this one day we may end up like this if we dont do see something now.

President Trump, Senators, Congressmen and Congresswomen, as well as the News Media I dare you to stand up and fight for the right to live in this Counrtry and get the proper health care we deserve. I dare you to take a long hard look at these facilities and see what really goes on. Our loved ones plain and simple are being murdered every day by the hundreds in facilities like this.

Do I have a solution? Yes, I do and so do the rest of the tax payers here in the United States of America and it is high time we get a chance to stand before Congress and the President and tell you all like it is and what we need and deserve from our Country.

To bring cost down for medication and medical procedures is real easy. All it takes is a vote by the American people not Congress. We should be the ones voting and setting forth new and better laws. We don't need Congress to represent us and continue to rake us over the coals.

It doesn't matter what political party you belong to either why you might ask? The answer is plain and simple we can all agree on Health Care, Education, Our Veterans, Our Troops, Jobs and how to create them and much more. None of you are capable of caring for "We the People" any longer. Time to let us vote and make the laws we can all agree on and not fight about like the House of Congress does who acts more like the house of Ill Repute.
