Sarasota Man Dies In Christmas Day Crash: FHP
A 54-year-old Sarasota man crashed his car into a traffic signal post on 17th Street around 3 a.m. on Friday, the FHP said.
SARASOTA, FL — A Sarasota man died in an early morning single-vehicle crash on Christmas Day, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
While driving westbound on 17th Street, the 54-year-old lost control of his car as he approached Country Meadows Boulevard around 3 a.m. on Friday, FHP said.
The car spun off the road, colliding with a traffic signal support post. The driver, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

The FHP has not released the name of the driver.
