Sarasota Man Killed In Single-Car Crash On I-75
A 53-year-old Sarasota man is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 near mile marker 20.
SARASOTA, FL -- A 53-year-old Sarasota man is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 near mile marker 20.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Dean Hashtani was driving his Ford Explorer north in the right lane of Interstate 75 just north of Bee Ridge Road at 4:06 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, when he attempted to change into the middle lane.
When he realized the lane wasn't clear, he swerved back, causing the Explorer to rotate then enter the paved shoulder and grassy median where the Explorer overturned multiple times.

Hashtani was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
