Sarasota Police Tweet From the Beat Friday
The real-time event lets Sarasota residents go on a 'virtual ride-along' with law enforcement officers.

SARASOTA, FL — Sarasota area residents who want to find out what life on the beat is like without having to leave their homes will get the chance this Friday.
The Sarasota Police Department has announced another Tweet From the Beat event for March 18. Between 6:30 and 11 p.m., Officer Laura Markey and other patrol officers will shared tweets, videos and photos via Twitter of what they are encountering on the streets of Sarasota.
“This event is a great opportunity for our local and virtual community to communicate and interact with our Officers in the city we protect and serve,” Chief Bernadette DiPino said in a statement about the event. “Our ‘Tweet from the Beat’ program has been very successful with residents and law enforcement from here in the City of Sarasota and all over the country as they interact with us.”
