School Psychologist Charged in Molestation Case
The North Port High School employee is being held on $100,000 bond.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Venice man Wednesday on charges related to the molestation of a 14-year-old girl.
Deputies say they began investigating Harvey Dorey, 44, after a girl who once lived in a foster home he ran with his then-wife told case workers he was a “pedophile,” a media release from the agency said. Upon further investigation, the girl told the case worker she had been molested on multiple occasions over the course of a year. She was 14 at the time, the media release said.
Dorey, who works for the Sarasota County School Board, was arrested at North Port High Wednesday morning. He was charged with lewd or lascivious molestation and lewd or lascivious conduct. He is being held on $100,000 bond at the Sarasota County Jail.
