Search For Missing Sarasota Family Continues
The mother and her two daughters haven't been seen since last Saturday.

SARASOTA, FL — The Sarasota Police Department is continuing to follow leads in the disappearance of a woman and her two daughters.
Hidalia Bernal, 30, and her two daughters, Noemi Olivares, 13, and Claudia Olivares, 9, were last seen at their home in the 2100 block of 11th Place last weekend.
“The children have not attended school since March 11, 2016,” the police department wrote in an email to media. “They also have not had contact with friends or family since the weekend, which is very unusual for the family.”

Bernal has custody of the two girls, the agency said. Police went to her home to serve a subpoena because Bernal was a witness to a crime. When they arrived at the home, they found cars still in the driveway and Bernal’s cellphone, officials said during a news conference Thursday. They also found a note, but won’t disclose its contents.
Bernal’s husband, Roman Olivares, 32, is currently in jail, charged with lewd molestation.
