Second Dose Available To Those Vaccinated By Sarasota Memorial
Those who received the coronavirus vaccine at Sarasota Memorial Jan. 9-10 should go to the hospital for their second dose Saturday, Sunday.
SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — Those who received the first dose of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine at Sarasota Memorial Hospital Jan. 9 and 10 are asked to return to the hospital Saturday and Sunday for their booster shot, according to the hospital’s website.
The second-dose vaccinations will take place in the first-floor auditorium at SMH, located at 1700 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. both days. No first-dose vaccinations will be available these days.
“Your second-dose appointment will be for the same time slot as your first-dose appointment, on the date listed on the COVID-19 vaccination record card you received at the event,” the hospital said. “You do not need to make a new appointment.”

The hospital vaccinated nearly 3,000 members of the public 65 and older Jan. 9 and 10 using vaccine doses leftover after vaccinating its staff members who opted to receive it.
Those receiving the second shot Saturday and Sunday should print out their COVID-19 vaccine consent for at home prior to going to SMH. They should plan to arrive no more than 20 minutes ahead of their time slot and park in the hospital’s Waldemere Parking Garage.

Sarasota Memorial’s Internal Medicine Practice in Newtown will follow up on a pop-up coronavirus vaccine clinic it hosted Jan. 13. That day, SMH administered the Moderna vaccine to about 400 Newtown community members 65 and older, according to the hospital.
The practice, located at 1825 Dr. Martin Luther King Way, will host a second-dose clinic Feb. 10 for those vaccinated Jan. 13, the hospital said. Those vaccinated during the first event will receive their booster shot at the same time slot assigned for their first dose.
To receive the second dose at the Newtown clinic, attendees must bring their ID and their COVID-19 vaccination record card.
