Sick Tortoise's X-Ray Shocked Her Doctor
The critter had swallowed a tiny turtle pendant.

When vets at the Avian & Exotic Animal Medical Center in Miami examined a sick tortoise named Lola earlier this week, they got to work right away trying to figure out just what was wrong with her.
Lola, it seems, was suffering from constipation.
This, though, was no ordinary sickness, according to the center’s Facebook page: When staff took an X-ray, they discovered something that made them scratch their heads.

“Apparently Lola has a taste for turtles, or at least a turtle pendant,” the center reported to its Facebook fans. “Does that make her a cannibal?”
It was no joke. The critter had indeed swallowed a tiny turtle pendant, the root of her troubles, the center confirmed. Treatments began right away to help ease Lola’s trouble out of her system.

While it’s unclear how soon Lola will feel like herself again, the vet staff assured its fans that everything should “come out OK” for the critter.
Tortoises are known for eating all sorts of strange things courtesy of their grazing habit, but this was the first time Harris had heard of one digesting a turtle pendant.
