SARASOTA, FL — The Sarasota Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that sent a woman and one of her sons to the hospital with serious injuries.According to the agency, a mini-van driven by an adult female veered away from the westbound lanes of Mound Street around 9:15 a.m. and struck a palm tree. Three children were inside the van at the time. One of those children, a 6-year-old twin boy, and the woman were injured. The other two children, boys, ages 6 and 1, are now with their father, the police department reported.The names of those involved are not being released at this time.
