Smoothie Shop Owner Sold Steroids, Deputies Say

An undercover operation led to the Sarasota business owner's arrest.

A 31-year-old Sarasota business owner faces criminal charges after deputies say they discovered his shop sold more than smoothies.

An investigation into Christopher Lilley’s conduct at Extreme Nutrition & Smoothie, 4104 Bee Ridge Road, was kicked off in October when detectives learned the shop might be connected to the illegal sale of steroids, the sheriff’s office said in an email to media.

Since October, detectives say they purchased nearly $500 in Oxandrolone and Stanozolol from Lilley. Those purchases were enough to land detectives a search warrant for the store. That warrant was served on Tuesday. Detectives seized more than 600 capsules of the two drugs during the search.
