State Street Garage Grand Opening Set
The city of Sarasota will celebrate the new facility's official opening Friday.
SARASOTA, FL — Sarasota residents happy to see the State Street Garage open its doors are invited to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday.
The city plans to play host to the Feb. 5 ceremony at 10 a.m. on the garage’s sixth floor. Residents are welcomed to attend the official grand opening of the award-winning garage.
“The State Street Garage is already a signature building in downtown,” said City Manager Tom Barwin. “The architectural design blends into the area while providing 400 plus parking spaces for people visiting our increasingly active downtown.”

Located between Orange and Lemon avenues, the garage features five parking decks. It also has four electric car charging stations and a bicycle storage area. Retail space is located on the ground level.
The garage’s design was recently recognized by the Florida Parking Association.

The facility has entrances and exits from both State Street and Ringling Boulevard. For more information about the city’s parking facilities, parking time limits and event fees, visit the city online.
