SARASOTA, FL — A suspected bank robber was arrested after the robbery of a bank in the 6000 block of S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota on Wednesday afternoon, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office tweeted.

Though the sheriff’s office didn’t identify the bank, citing Marsy’s Law, WWSB identified it as a SunTrust Bank.

Deputies were called to the scene just before 1 p.m. Wednesday. After getting the suspect’s description from witnesses, they issued an alert in the area. They located the possible suspect in the area of Mall Drive and Gateway Avenue.
