Thanksgiving DUI Wolfpack Announced

The Florida Highway Patrol will be out in force in Sarasota and Manatee counties.

Motorists who knock back a few too many over the long Thanksgiving weekend might want to think twice about getting behind the wheel.

The Florida Highway Patrol has announced a DUI Wolfpack Detail for Saturday, Nov. 27 starting at 9 p.m. Troopers plan to be out in force, looking for impaired and aggressive drivers until 4 a.m. Sunday.

“FHP sets up such details to proactively remove impaired drivers from the roadways and ultimately enhance the safety of the motoring public,” an email to media from the agency stated.

Drivers who do find themselves too tipsy to turn the key will find that AAA is offering its Tow 2 Go service throughout the holiday weekend. And, while the Wolfpack has a set start and stop time, the patrol has also announced around-the-clock augmented enforcement throughout the weekend.
