SARASOTA, FL — The Tidewell Trot 5K and 1-Mile Run/Walk benefitting the Tidewell Foundation will take place Oct. 21 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota.
Last year, the event was held virtually because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Proceeds raised from the Tidewell Trot will be used for the Tidewell Foundation’s grants to Tidewell Hospice and will help pay for charity care, grief support services, specialized veterans care, music therapy, telehealth and more, according to a news release from the foundation.

She added, “After holding last year’s event virtually due to the pandemic, it’s going to be a real treat to see so many new and familiar faces in person again. Whether you have a personal connection to our mission or this is your first time connecting with us, know that your participation will go a long way toward brightening the lives of those who need it most.”
The 5K and 1-mile run/walk are both pet- and stroller-friendly. Participants will have plenty of water stations, upbeat music and enthusiastic volunteers cheering them on toward the finish line, the foundation said.
The races will start at 6 p.m., following a vendor fair beginning at 5 p.m. Following the run/walk, there will be an after party and awards ceremony.
