SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — The Department of Health in Sarasota County starts its next phase of vaccine distribution by offering walk-up, no-appointment needed first-dose clinics Friday and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Sarasota Square Mall.

Starting Monday, the county’s registration system will also no longer accept new accounts, Brianne Grant, the county’s media relations officer said in an email.

Those currently registered will still be able to view their account, though, and the system will continue to schedule appointment notifications for the existing list of registrants. Individuals arriving to the clinics with scheduled appointments will not have to wait in the walk-up lines.

Those who receive their first dose through the DOH-Sarasota walk-up clinics will be provided a second-dose appointment date. They will not receive a reminder notice for this booster shot and should monitor the DOH-Sarasota and county websites and social media, Grant said.
