Warm Mineral Springs Reopens After Man’s Death: North Port Police
A man died after suffering a medical episode while in the water at Warm Mineral Springs Friday, North Port police said.

NORTH PORT, FL — Warm Mineral Springs reopened Monday following the death of a man Friday afternoon at the springs, North Port Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.
A 73-year-old man died after suffering a medical episode while in the water, despite life-saving measures being taken, police said.
The park was closed through the weekend while the death was investigated.

Warm Mineral Springs is the only natural warm spring in Florida and has a consistent average temperature of 85 degrees year-round, according to the city of North Port website.
The spring is rumored to have one of the highest mineral contents of any natural spring in the United States, the city said. With anaerobic and highly mineralized properties, internationally known for its purported healing qualities, the park attracts more than 150,000 visitors each year.
