State-Run Coronavirus Vaccine Clinic Planned In North Port

Notifications will go out Friday for a state-run coronavirus vaccine clinic at Suncoast Technical College Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

NORTH PORT, FL — Notifications for an upcoming state-run vaccine clinic in North Port will go out Friday afternoon, according to a news release from Sarasota County.

The clinic will run Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at Suncoast Technical College at 4445 Career Lane. About 2,000 vaccine doses will be given each day, the county said.

Those selected for the clinic will be chosen from Sarasota County’s vaccine registration system in the order of account number.

The county’s Everbridge registration system went down Friday at 2 p.m. as a new system is being created to accommodate the Florida’s vaccine eligibility expansion to everyone 60 and older. The new system will go live Monday afternoon.

Those who have already registered in Sarasota County will move to the new system and won’t lose their place in line, the county said. Anyone who wasn’t previously eligible for the vaccine or who created an incomplete account will need to reregister with the new system.
