• Highlands County deputy accused of DUI, leaving scene after rear-end crash in Sebring: FHP (fox13news.com) — A Highlands County sheriff’s deputy was arrested after allegedly rear-ending a stopped truck with a marked patrol vehicle in Sebring and then leaving the scene. Florida Highway Patrol troopers later found him at Sebring High School, arrested him on DUI and hit-and-run-related charges, and he’s now on unpaid leave while criminal and internal investigations continue.
