• Longtime Sarasota waterfront business reveals survival plan (heraldtribune.com) — Siesta Key Watersports, a longtime favorite for parasailing and dolphin tours near the south bridge, is being forced out of Boatyard Village as Sarasota County buys the site for a new waterfront park and medallion-program access. Starting May 15, the business will operate from Siesta Key Aqua Adventures on South Tamiami Trail, shuttling passengers to meet boats while jet ski docks and other gear are removed from Stickney Point Road.
   

• Siesta Beach in Sarasota Named One of the World's Best Beaches for 2026 (suncoastpost.com) — Siesta Beach on Siesta Key has just been named one of the world’s top 50 beaches for 2026, the only U.S. beach to make the list. The story highlights what locals already love: cool quartz sand, easy Gulf swimming, strong county amenities, and the nearby Siesta Key Village and Drum Circle that keep the island’s community feel thriving.
   

• Sarasota County Is Getting Its Own Monopoly Board (sarasotamagazine.com) — Siesta Key Beach is in the running to be featured on a new Sarasota County edition of Monopoly, and residents can help decide what makes the board. The game’s creators are taking public nominations through mid-July for beaches, parks, neighborhoods and local institutions, with a customized board set to debut in March 2027.
