100K Jackpot up for Grabs at GTE Financial Summer Celebration

Three lucky credit union members have earned a once-in-a-lifetime chance to win $100,000 during the GTE Financial 100K Payday summer celebration. The event is the culmination of the credit union’s summer membership drive, which was designed to boost membership and reward its members. The celebration kicks off with live music, food and a chance to win big at noon on Friday, September 16, on the front lawn of GTE Financial, located at 711 E Henderson Ave., Tampa.

The selected members will be cheered on by the crowd and a live deejay as they approach a table with 40 surprise bags. Each of the bags contains a $100, $1,000, $10,000 or $100,000 token. Contestants will open bags until they have five matching dollar amounts. For example, if a contestant opens five envelopes with $1,000, they will win $1,000. Every contestant will walk away with at least $100.

“We are so excited for this big event and the chance for someone to possibly win $100,000,” says Brian Best, president and CEO of GTE Financial. “The contest was a way for us to drive membership and truly give back to our members by rewarding them with an experience they will never forget,” he added.

The $100K Payday campaign ran from June to August 2016 and rewarded both new and current members who referred their friends and family to the credit union. Members who joined GTE during this time received one entry into the contest. New and current members received one entry for each new member referral (unlimited entries). Members were entered for the drawing each time someone they referred became a member, giving them more chances to win an opportunity to participate in the Payday event. In the first week of September, three contestants were randomly selected to take part in the event.
