2 Fatal Shootings Under Investigation in Tampa
Police say the crimes don't appear to be related.

The Tampa Police Department is investigating two shooting deaths that took place Monday morning.
The first death was reported around 12:20 a.m. Monday at 3107 N. Jefferson St., an email from police spokeswoman Janelle McGregor stated.
In that case, the body of Lyfe Coleman, 18, was found in the front yard of the Jefferson Street home. Coleman was taken to Tampa General Hospital with a gunshot wound, but died as a result of his injuries, McGregor wrote.

The second shooting occurred just before 6 a.m. at 8723 Del Ray Court. In that case, the department received a 911 call about a man lying on the ground outside of an apartment building. When police arrived, they found James Strouse, 51, with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Strouse died at the scene, McGregor said.
The two cases, McGregor said do not appear to be related. Investigators do not believe the acts were random either, she added.

Detectives asking anyone with information about either shooting to contact the department. Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to arrests in the cases. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).
